BEST OF: NURSERIES. Oh, Baby!

This is dedicated to Bridgett, Candace, and Kristie, my favorite new moms (and preggo friends).

These are the best of the best in nursery designs. Most (but not all!) were designed by professional interior designers. I hope it inspires you to imagine beyond wall paper borders and limited color schemes.
Most importantly, use washable low VOC paint! :)

LOVE the high contrast. If that dark wall was chalkboard paint,
this kiddo will have the coolest room on the block.

For you Angelenos, allow me to introduce the one and only
WEEGO Baby in Santa Monica

A chic modern children’s shop in the noted Frank Gehry designed Edgemar complex in Santa Monica, California.Yes, the store is this gorgeous. So is their philosophy: "Your child's
space should be a retreat comprised of color, pattern, and amusement" .

I love the faux bois wallpaper contains the pink, adds depth and this little one is already quite the hipster.
                                                                                                                                                                                             .

My personal favorite is the nursery Kenneth Brown designed for his own daughter. The girly touches of pink pop against a charcoal wall. As she grows the pink can easily be swapped out for other colors.

Happy Monday!

Is it Spring yet?

Happy Monday!

Can you think of a good friend that you've been just too busy to spend enough time with?
Of course you can.
Send them an email, a card, a text, or (gasp) a phone call letting them know you appreciate them.
Then set a reminder in your blackberry to make plans this weekend to catch up.

Local Love: Noir Furniture

Los Angeles based Noir Furniture WoW'd me at the last furniture show in Las Vegas. Known for having a "country modern" vibe, they are trending with the Belgian Aesthetic look that is so popular with designers right now.
They manufacture in China and Indonesia so finish selection is limited, but the pieces are striking. They have grown from a modest,  transitional import company to high style at affordable prices.

Noir is to the trade only, email if you need further info/pricing: info@fioreinteriors.com
