Turquoise 2010 series : Turquoise and Red

Turquoise and Red are two beautiful colors that are a VERY difficult combination to pull off in a home. You must have total commitment to both colors or it will be messy. I was delighted to see this done very well in a local store, Folly 101!  Located in the Old Port section of Portland, Maine, they have accessories and decor that remind me of the coastal homes of Orange County beach cities such as San Clemente and Laguna Beach.

Great Merchandising, friendly staff, whats not to love?
Sadly Folly 101 doesn't have a website (that I can find). They can be reached at:
Folly 101     101 Exchange St, Portland, ME 04101 (207) 773-5227.
Maybe I should create a website for them in exchange for their heavenly candles? Hmmmn.

Here are some of the few, the only, combinations of  Turquoise and Red that I approve of. Notice the broad use of nuetrals and commitment to only two colors...

sigh. I really wanted to do this in our room this year, but it did not work out... we didn't have the opportunity to commit fully. Perhaps in the next place...

It requires total dedication to only TWO accent colors or not at all, or else it looks sloppy. Tough combo :)
